Exercise

Exercise for the health of it

A new law says elementary and middle school students will have more physical education this year.

Physical activity is good for almost everyone, unless your doctor warns against it. Exercise will help keep your weight down, keep you healthy and keep your mind fit, too.

Even a walk around a city, county or state park will help. Plus, being out in nature helps you do better in the classroom or work and relieves stress, whether you are a kid or an adult.

Check your local parks department for exercise programs or parks locations. Look up "parks" in the city and county sections of your phone book.

You can find other parks by looking up the Oregon State Parks and Recreation Department, or the Oregon Parks Association online.
