Get the most from your prescriptions

It’s a smart idea to learn all you can about your new prescriptions before you leave your provider’s office. Here are some simple questions to ask:

• Why am I taking it? How will I know it’s working?

• How much should I take? When should I take it?

• Are there side effects? How can I reduce them?

• Is this drug OK with my other medications?

• Does CareOregon cover this drug? If not, is there another drug on CareOregon’s formulary that will work for me? Or does my doctor need to request an exception or prior authorization?
