Vaccination Week is coming up at the end of April.
It’s a good time to make sure immunizations are up to date.
Find out what vaccinations you and your entire family should have in your CareOregon member handbook or on our web site. |
Mother’s milk is still the best choice
Mother's milk is the perfect food for babies.
Medical studies have found that breastfeeding helps new moms and babies grow close. It protects babies from many childhood diseases. It helps babies not to gain too much weight. It also helps new mothers lose a few "after baby" pounds. Formulas can't do the same.
It is natural to have questions about breastfeeding. How long should I breastfeed? When should I start giving my baby solid food? How can I continue breastfeeding after I go back to work?
Your baby's doctor is a great resource for information about breastfeeding.
Our brochure, "Helping Baby Grow up Healthy," has helpful tips. Look for it in your New Mom packet. Your baby's clinic may have copies of the brochure.
You can also download copies on our web site in English, Russian, Spanish and Vietnamese. |
