New clinics to open in Portland metro area

CareOregon and community partners team to provide primary health care, other services

Access to health care in the Portland metro area is getting a little easier. CareOregon is teaming up with community partners to help open four new clinics for primary care. Two of them are already open; the others will open by fall.

Two of the clinics—Beaverton and Milwaukie—will be operated by CareOregon Community Health. Rockwood will be operated by Multnomah County Health Department. Gladstone will be operated by Clackamas County Health Department.

This clinic opened June 1. The medical team includes a part-time pediatrician, a family practice physician, two family nurse practitioners. The staff members speak French, Vietnamese and Spanish.

This clinic also opened June 1. Its multilingual medical clinicians and staff speak French, Vietnamese, German, Hmong, Laotian and Spanish in addition to English. This site is shared with LifeWorks NW, which provides mental health services.

CareOregon is also a collaborating partner at two other clinics opening later this summer that will be operated by community partners:

Clackamas County Health Department
Gladstone Clinic
18905 Portland Ave.
Gladstone, OR 97027

This facility will open in September right next to the Gladstone Center for Children and Families. It will be operated by the Clackamas County Health Department, mental health, outreach and other services in addition to medical care.

Multnomah County Health Department
Rockwood Health Center
2020 SE 182nd Ave.
Portland, OR 97233

This clinic is expected to be open by the end of August. Multnomah County Health Department will employ up to eight medical clinicians and two dental care providers. LifeWorks NW is also collaborating by providing mental health services. Pharmacy services will also be provided.

Each of these four clinics will be able to provide medical services and more to people who previously had difficulty getting health care services. Each has the room to expand and offer care to more people as needed to meet demand.
