Tanning beds: not such a bright idea

Even now, in the summer months, clouds here in the Northwest sometimes make the day dreary. It might be tempting to seek the comfort of a tanning, but it’s not in the best interest of your health.

Just like getting too much sun, your chance of getting skin cancer gets a lot higher when you use a tanning bed.

In fact, the International Agency for Research on Cancer flatly state that that tanning beds cause cancer. The agency says your risk for melanoma—the most dangerous kind of skin cancer—is 75 percent higher if you start using tanning beds before age 35.
