Quality improvement projects get later start with high hopes

CareOregon’s Care Support and System Innovation program (CSSI) partners with CareOregon providers to improve care for patients. Providers have tackled a wide variety of challenges to improve outcomes, reduce hospital-linked complications and, ultimately reduce the cost of care.

In previous years, the results of the CSSI projects were shared at an annual conference in the fall. This year’s annual conference won’t be held until February 2010 so that more complete information can be shared.

“We moved the conference to February so the projects will report on a full year of activities,” says Diana Wolford, CSSI program manager. “Most of the projects were funded from February 1, 2009, to January 31, 2010, so the conference is at the end of the CSSI program year. We hope that the projects will have more to report, as opposed to reporting after only nine months and sometimes less in previous years.”
