What is Lead?

Lead is a metal found in the earth's crust. Lead has been used in paint, gasoline, pottery, water pipes and other products. Lead is a poison and harms people. It cannot be destroyed in the body or made harmless.

What is Lead Poisoning?

Lead poisoning occurs when lead builds up in the body. Children and adults can get lead poisoning from different sources, including breathing or swallowing dust that contains lead. Even small amounts can be harmful.
