- September 1, 2009 - Community Plans Outperform Traditional Medicare According to a study by Johns Hopkins University researcher Dr. Gerard Anderson, the United States could save $10 billion every year if patients on traditional Medicare (commonly called fee-for-service, or FFS) received the same care currently provided by 13 community health plans that are part of the Alliance of Community Health Plans (ACHP), including CareOregon Advantage.
- August 20, 2009 – About one in six Oregonians receives food stamps. While it can be difficult to turn a tiny food budget into healthy meals, it is possible, and CareOregon (an organization that serves the largest number of Oregon Health Plan members) is offering nutrition counseling to help people stretch limited food dollars.
