Statewide report on primary care performance and updated quality scores for doctors’ offices

March 07, 2011

Partner for Quality Care is a statewide collaborative effort to measure and improve the quality of health care in Oregon. In February the initiative launched its second statewide report on primary care quality, called Information for a Healthy Oregon. The report reveals trends and variations in care across the state and opportunities for patients and practitioners to work together to improve care in Oregon.

Partner for Quality Care has also updated its online health resource for patients, www.PartnerforQualitycare.org. Quality scores for doctors’ offices and clinics with four or more adult primary care practitioners have been refreshed using the latest data. Performance information on individual physicians is not published. The website also provides patients with helpful tips for getting quality health care in easily understood language so that they can be better partners in their own health care.

CareOregon is one of 11 health plans that has been an active participant in this collaborative effort that includes doctors, hospitals, other health insurers, purchasers, government officials and consumers. Partner for Quality Care is a project of the nonprofit Oregon Health Care Quality Corporation.
