A MEDS Ed seminar


This session of CareOregon Pharmacy’s MEDS Ed program focuses on empowering learners with tools to apply in clinical environments to improve the experience of the Transgender patient and medical management of gender transition.

  1.  Content from Amy Penkin and Jess Guerriero  provides an overview of gender identities and visibility, as well as inclusion efforts to help improve capacity for communicating and interacting in a culturally competent manner with a Transgender and/or Gender Diverse individual.

  2.  Content from Dr. Christina Milano provides an overview of pubertal blockade/suppression, hormone therapy, feminizing and masculinizing therapies, as well as gender-affirming surgical services available to support gender transition.

  3.  Content from Amy Penkin and Jess Guerriero provides insight into mental health considerations, diagnosis vs. identity, historical trauma, trauma informed care, as well as surgical care planning and aftercare.
