Jul 17, 2026, 21:01 PM

CareOregon is pleased to announce a new round of Behavioral Health Medicaid Essentials Trainings for contracted behavioral health providers. Running from September 3 through November 16, this series offers multiple opportunities for providers to build their knowledge and skills through training topics tailored to their roles and practice needs.

These free, virtual trainings are designed to help outpatient behavioral health professionals strengthen clinical documentation skills, deepen their understanding of Medicaid requirements, and apply best practices in their daily work. Led by experienced clinicians and auditors from CareOregon’s Clinical Quality Specialist team, each session offers practical, real-world guidance that providers can use immediately in their practice. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available and approved by the Oregon Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers.

Training content is designed primarily for outpatient mental health and substance use providers, including Qualified Mental Health Practitioners (QMHPs), board-registered associates, licensed clinicians and clinical leadership.

Topics include Medicaid documentation, behavioral health assessments, diagnostic justification, service planning, service notes, safety planning, case management and other Medicaid-focused clinical and documentation best practices.

Whether you are new to Medicaid-funded behavioral health services or looking to refresh your knowledge, these trainings provide valuable tools to support compliance, documentation quality and high-quality member care.

We encourage all eligible contracted behavioral health providers to explore the available sessions and register for the topics most relevant to their role and practice.
